The 2017-18 season was not one to remember at Old Trafford as Jose Mourinho’s men failed to land any silverware. The next season will be the third under the former Chelsea boss and the fans will be hoping that he can help them to a league title in a year’s time. The Portuguese mastermind seems to be aiming for the same and is looking to add stars who can improve his first team this summer.
But that will unsettle a few of the players already at his disposal and one such player extensively linked with an exit is Anthony Martial.
Having arrived in England on a big-money deal back in 2015, Martial made an immediate impact at Old Trafford, showing his range of attacking prowess against arch-rivals Liverpool. He was touted to be the future for the club but slowly faded away. He is yet to win the trust of Jose Mourinho, with who he reportedly shares a shaky relationship, and this has seen him linked with an exit.
The 22-year old has just two years left on his current deal and though United want him to stay, he has already rejected a chance to extend his contract and is now in search of a new club, that can offer regular game time. And reports now suggest that Manchester United have slapped a price tag of £75m, to try and scare potential suitors away.
He picked up 11 goals and seven assists in just 25 starts in all competitions last season but was constantly overlooked for big games, which also saw him lose out on a place in the French national team for the World Cup in Russia. And his agent Philippe Lamboley has now insisted that he wants to leave.
English outfit Tottenham Hotspur were determined to land him but United have now out-priced them. But he is wanted by the likes of Real Madrid and PSG, both clubs not afraid to spend big. But Martial should make sure that his new club make him a regular starter, rather than asking him to prove himself from the bench.
At his age, the French attacker is one of the most exciting stars in Europe at the moment and is certain to have an impact in any league. He has already proven himself in the Premier League and if Mourinho should do all he can to convince him to stay.

But the lack of a genuine winger at Old Trafford might see Mourinho spend on one this summer, which will push Martial further down the pecking order. So it looks more likely that Martial is better off starting to look at potential destinations for the next season.
