Manchester United are one of the busiest clubs in the transfer market this summer. Having gone trophyless last season, Jose Mourinho is desperate to add quality to his first team and is scouting for some of the finest stars in Europe. But one name exciting many fans is Kylian Mbappe.
The French starlet rose through the ranks at Monaco and announced himself to the world in the 2016/17 campaign, where he registered 21 goals and eight assists in all competitions for the French giants, helping them to the Ligue 1 title.
He earned himself a move to the capital city, with Paris Saint Germain taking him on an initial loan with a clause to buy him permanently for £166m. However, the FFP rules will mean that they will have to sell, to be able to afford to sign Mbappe, especially after spending £198m on Neymar Jr, just last summer.
If they are found guilty of breaching any FFP rules, they could be thrown out of the Champions League and will also be hit with hefty fines. But the biggest loss will be Mbappe himself, who is only starting to weave his magic on the game.
He was a regular in the PSG starting XI last season, registering 21 goals and 11 assists in all competitions and is also a crucial part of Didier Deschamps’ national side in Russia. He has started both games and has also scored his first World Cup goal, growing in stature by the day.
At just 19, he is touted to be the next best player in Europe and has a bright future and reports suggest that both Manchester giants are looking at him as a potential option. The Mirror claim that Manchester United and Manchester City have both registered their interest in the player.
Fleet-footed, technically gifted and matured way beyond his age, Mbappe is certainly ready for the rigours of the Premier League and his ability to play in any of the attacking roles makes him a huge asset for the Red Devils.
Mourinho does not have an outright winger in his squad at the moment and needs players like Mbappe to unlock sides that sit back and defend. It is understood that they are ready to offer Anthony Martial as a part of the deal to land Mbappe, which will further reduce his price.

Martial is currently struggling for game time and is desperate to move away so this deal makes a lot of sense for United. But it will not be easy to fend away PSG and Manchester City’s interest in the player this summer.
