Manchester United are looking to make a move for Lyon midfielder Tanguy NDombèlé this summer. According to recent reports, the Red Devils are planning to seal a move for the French midfield enforcer during this summer transfer period. However, they will face stiff competition from a whole host of clubs in pursuit of the Ligue 1 youngster’s signature in the summer.
Some sources are now claiming that Jose Mourinho’s side are ready to ‘take action’ regarding a potential move for the French midfielder in this post-season. NDombèlé went out on loan to SC Amiens from Lyon last summer and had an outstanding season under the guidance of Christophe Pélissier in the last campaign.
The 21-year-old put in a number of commanding displays at the centre of the park for Amiens which helped his side avoid relegation from the top tier of French football. NDombèlé had made 50 appearances for the Ligue 1 side last season, scoring once while grabbing 8 assists in all competitions. The Ligue 1 starlet had also earned 8 international caps for the French Under-21 team during his career so far. He is exactly the kind of player who can help Mourinho build for a bigger and better future at Old Trafford.
The Reds of Manchester couldn’t manage to bag a trophy last season so the Special One needs to recruit wisely in this ongoing window if he is serious about challenging for major silverware next term.
The potential acquisition of NDombèlé will undoubtedly bolster Mourinho’s midfield options ahead of the new campaign. The Manchester outfit have the likes of Paul Pogba, Ander Herrera, Scott McTominay, Nemanja Matic and Marouane Fellaini competing for a spot in Mourinho’s starting XI at Old Trafford. The addition of NDombèlé will definitely improve their team in the future and add more competition for places within the Red Devils squad.
