Leicester City are reportedly busy shopping for a new player by the name of Bassem Srarfi of Tunisia. It is being reported that the winger, who plies his trade for Ligue 1 side Nice, is being scouted by multiple English clubs including the likes of Arsenal and Manchester City.
He played 35 times for Nice last season scoring 3 goals and assisting once. The Tunisia international has 3 caps for his national team and was once again live in action for 14 minutes in the friendly against Portugal this week.
He cost Nice 1.5m euros in January 2017 when he joined the French side from Club Africain. The Tunisians have a tough group in the upcoming FIFA World Cup as they have been pitted against heavyweights like England and Belgium.
He will be up against players like Jamie Vardy and Harry Maguire of Leicester City and Srarfi might have an opportunity to impress them and get Leicester to actually move in for him. Leicester will have a fight on their hands though as they will be up against two English giants in Arsenal and Manchester City.
Arsenal recently appointed Unai Emery as their head coach and the Spaniard will be looking to bring in new recruitment of his own. Arsenal obviously holds the more luring cards as compared to Leicester as they will be able to offer Srarfi European football.
As for Manchester City, the Premier League champions already have a world-class manager and a star-studded squad. They have the likes of Raheem Sterling, Leroy Sane and Bernardo Silva and they are also approaching Leicester City star Riyad Mahrez, according to reports.
Should City get their man, the Algerian will move to the Etihad and thereby automatically stop their chase of Srarfi. Moreover, it will leave Leicester needing a direct replacement for the winger and the chase for Srarfi would become all the more important.
Leicester had a difficult start to their last season when their former manager Craig Shakespeare failed to get the team moving despite signing multiple new players. He was sacked and replaced by Claude Puel. The new boss reshaped the Leicester line up and got them back in form.

However, their joy was short-lived as Leicester’s inconsistent run continued and it was evident that the team needed reinforcement. Signing Srarfi could add vital depth to their squad, more so if Mahrez were to actually leave for Manchester City this summer.
