After securing the signing of Jonny Evans, Leicester City wants to improve their defensive option further by bringing in Solomon Kvirkvelia. The Lokomotiv Moscow defender is admired by the Foxes for quite some time now and this summer they could move in to sign the 26-year-old defender. The big defender has been impressive for the Russian side. He joined Moscow after parting ways with Rubin Kazan last year in the summer.
The Foxes were defensively poor last season and Claude Puel seems to have identified that shortcoming. He managed to sign Evans on a cut-price deal and is now looking to sign the Georgian centre-half. He made 41 appearances last term and was even on the scoresheet thrice. He helped his side in securing the Russsian League and was a constant feature for them at the back.
The Foxes finished 9th but they were expected to perform much better than that. They did have some impressive outings but they were unable to gather any momentum as they kept on losing games after one or two good performances. The likes of Wes Morgan and Harry Maguire had an average season and the pressure is on Claude Puel to deliver the good in the upcoming season.
Morgan is set to enter into the final year of his contract and it is expected that after the signing of Jonny Evans, he will play bits and pieces role in the upcoming season. Maguire has been constantly linked with a move away from the club after just one season but it seems likely that he will continue with them for another year. Robert Huth is set to depart the club after his contract is expiring in the summer and there is a clear need of signing a new centre-back at King Power Stadium.
Claude Puel is also under pressure after a dismal run of results in the last few games. There were rumours about him being sacked but as of now, it seems that the Frenchman will stay at the club.

The Foxes conceded 60 goals in the League last season and that is far from what they were able to achieve when they won the title a few years back. They were tough to break down and went on to secure quite a few 1-0 victories in the season when they did the unthinkable. Kvirkvelia will certainly bring more options and stability at the back and it remains to be seen whether he will be able to take on the challenges of the Premier League next season if the Foxes manage to bring him at King Power Stadium.
