Leeds United strong start to the season came to nothing as they eventually finished 13th in the league. They had a disappointing run of games in the latter half of the season and on the back of such results, Paul Heckingbottom, who was appointed in February was shown the door from the club. The currently managerless Whites have a huge task to look forward to as they try to rebuild the squad for the upcoming season.
Paweł Cibicki, who joined the Whites last summer only, could be on his way out of the club according to latest reports. The Swede was brought in with a lot of expectations but he has failed to deliver in his time at Elland Road. He made just 12 appearances in all competitions and is yet to open his goalscoring account for the Whites.
The Peacocks are in need of able striking options as they have lacked the cutting edge in front of goal. The u21 Swedish international failed to elevate his game according to the challenges of English football and it is very likely now that he could be sold in the ongoing transfer window.
However, the Whites need to confirm their new manager as soon as possible which will make it easier for the club decision-makers to understand who will stay and who will leave the club. Even if Cibicki is given another opportunity in the upcoming season, we can very much see a striker being signed by the Whites. We look at three possible replacements they can go after if Cibicki leaves the club.
Abel Hernandez
The name which the Whites have been longing to hear is that of the 27-year-old Uruguayan striker who was recently released by Hull City. The forward has a good amount of experience in English football and even has an experience in the Premier League. A striker like him will certainly be handy for the Whites in the upcoming season.
Dwight Gayle
Probably an ambitious move as the Englishman is currently playing in the top division with Newcastle United. However, he struggled to get going as he managed just 6 goals last season but he did well for the Magpies in the season before that in the Championship and a signing like him will certainly bring a new sense of hope among the Whites faithful.

Jack Marriott
The League One top scorer from Peterborough United has shown that he has the ability to play in a higher division and United should definitely go for him as he has everything which a striker needs to succeed at the top level. He is in some red-hot form as well as he scored 33 goals in the 2017-18 season.
