Leeds United seems to be in the running to sign former Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Sean Clare. Clare managed just 5 appearances in the Championship last season as he missed quite a few games due to injuries but his impressive outings in those games have brought him a lot of attention as various Premier League and Championship clubs are after his signature. The midfielder has been with the Owls since 2016 but has made just 5 appearances for them, all of which came in 2018.
The 21-year-old has had loan spells at Bury FC, Accrington Stanley and Gillingham. He joined Sheffield back in January from Gillingham this year and was part of them in the latter half of the season. The midfielder has been linked with a move to Aston Villa and other Premier League outfits as well. There is a frenzy to sign this right midfielder as he is available for free after his contract is set to run out by the end of this month.
The Whites are looking to add more depth and solidity to the squad. However, they are still waiting for their first signing of the summer. They have been linked with quite a few players but things have been slow. However, they have secured the signing of their new manager Marcelo Biesla.
The Whites are in desperate need of experience and wise head for the top job as they look to make their way back to the playoff spot. They ended up sacking two managers in the space of 5 months and one might feel that Paul Heckingbottom wasn’t given enough time to reform this side. However, the Peacocks would have certainly taken Biesla over him any day and it remains to be seen what kind of effect the experienced tactician will have.
The Whites need to bring in reinforcements to the squad as the current squad just isn’t good enough to challenge for the playoff spot. They finished 15 points behind the 6th placed Derby County and even with Biesla at the helm of the club, it will be tough for them to cover so much gap in such a short space of time.
