The 1-0 victory over Aston Villa has now given Fulham a chance to compete in the Premier League next season. The London club will back in the top tier after four long years and Slavisa Jokanovic will now be desperate to make sure that he has all the requirements needed to stay in the Premier League for another season.
They are yet to sign a player this summer but are now close to landing an experienced star in Tim Krul.
The Dutch international, who started his senior career with Newcastle United, only left the club last summer, after 12 long years but has not been able to establish himself at the highest level. He was signed by Premier League outfit Brighton on a one-year deal last summer but used him only in the cup competitions, giving him just six starts all season.
He will be a free agent at the end of the month and though the Seagulls want him to stay, the 30-year old wants to play regularly and is now looking for an exit. And reports suggest that PL newbies Fulham are ready to offer him a role in their squad.
Known for his athletic shot-stopping ability and his distribution from the back, Krul has 8 appearances for the national side, to add to 157 Premier League appearances and is one of the most experienced players in his role in the country.
He is yet to win a major trophy at club level but has all the makings of a match winner and at just 30, he still has a good few years at his best, left in his locker.
The Cottagers used Marcus Bettinelli and David Button, both of who played a minimum of 20 games in the Championship last season. But the manager is desperate to add a more established name to help them in the top flight next season and coming in on a free transfer, Krul fits the bill well.
Fulham were interested in Manchester United’s Dean Henderson, who has now signed a contract extension at Old Trafford. So they are back in the market for a goalkeeper and could snap up Krul, who will surely compete for a place in the first team.

He has previous experience of playing in the top flight and is adept at marshalling his backline, which will impress Jokanovic. So this deal is a ‘no-brainer’ for the club.
