Everton are monitoring the progress of RB Salzburg midfielder Hannes Wolf ahead of a potential move this summer. According to recent reports, the Toffees are interested in securing the services of the Austrian teenager during this summer transfer period.
The youngster managed to break into the Salzburg first-team last season and his impressive performances have caught the eyes of a number of English clubs which include Marco Silva’s Toffees. The 19-year-old had featured in 45 matches for the Austrian giants last season, scoring 12 goals while grabbing 8 assists in all competitions. His contributions brought a lot of success to Salzburg as they won their domestic league while also claiming a semi-final finish in the Europa League.
His incredible rise to prominence last season earned him an international call-up for the Austrian national team. He is exactly the kind of young talent who can flourish under the expert guidance of Marco Silva at Goodison Park. However, the Salzburg starlet has never played football outside his home country and might require some time to settle into the physicality and high intensity of the English top-flight.
At the mere of 19, the Austrian wonderkid has a lot of time to grow and develop his game so that he can cut the mustard at the highest level in a few years time.
The Merseyside outfit had to endure an underwhelming domestic campaign last term and could only manage to clinch an 8th placed finish in the top tier of English football. Marco Silva would now look to bring in some quality talents during this ongoing transfer window so that he can improve his team and close the gap to their crosstown rivals Liverpool in the upcoming season.
The potential signing of Wolf will undoubtedly bolster Everton’s attacking options ahead of the new campaign. The Toffees have some talented midfielders in their squad which include Wayne Rooney, Gylfi Sigurðsson, Davy Klaassen and Nikola Vlašić competing for the number 10 position in Silva’s attack at Goodison Park. The addition of Wolf will definitely improve the Merseyside team and add more competition for places within their squad.

The Austrian starlet is also quite versatile and primarily plays as an attacking midfielder but can also be deployed down the right flank or as a centre-forward up top which makes him a perfect fit for the Blues of Merseyside. It remains to be seen what lies ahead in the future of Wolf and whether he ends up sealing a move to Merseyside before the start of the new campaign.
