Jurgen Klopp is one of the very few top managers in the world that is renowned for giving youngsters a chance to shine on the toughest stage. He has done the same with a couple of youngsters at Liverpool, after his exploits in Germany and he seems determined to continue giving youth a chance next season as well.
The academy at Liverpool has a number of exciting talents, waiting to prove themselves at the highest stage. Young Trent Alexandre-Arnold was given a chance to impress early last season and took his chance with both hands, and is now a part of the England national squad in Russia for the World Cup.
The likes of Harry Wilson and Ben Woodburn are also touted to have futures in the senior side at Anfield but one player that has impressed many Liverpool faithful is Rhian Brewster.
Born and brought up in Chadwell Heath, the 18-year old spent six long years at the Academy of Chelsea and joined Liverpool in 2014 as a 14-year old. He steadily rose through the ranks at Merseyside, establishing himself as one of the most exciting youngsters on display in the country.
At just 18, he has already broken into the England U18 side and was a part of the U17 side that won the World Cup in India last year. He was awarded the Golden Boot and the Bronze Ball in those competitions, showing his quality at the highest stage.
He scored on his debut for Liverpool U23s last season and was tagged as a ‘special kid’ by Klopp himself in the past. He played a role in both the U18s and the U23s last season to equal effect, registering six goals and seven assists in all competitions.
He is an exceptionally gifted footballer with a keen eye for goal. He is an all-around striker, a poacher who loves to play on the shoulder of the final defender. Though not too strongly built, he is capable of making himself a nuisance in the final third and is also capable of dropping deep in build-up play when needed.

It is understood that Klopp has decided to promote him to the senior side for the 2018-19 season and that promise was enough for the 18-year old to pen his first professional contract with the club. He was wanted by the likes of RB Leipzig and Borussia Monchengladbach, both teams ready to give him first-team opportunities but Klopp now sees him as a backup to Firmino, solving Liverpool’s issues with a striker.
He will still be behind Danny Ings and Dominic Solanke in the pecking order but either of them might be sold or sent out on loan, to push Brewster closer to a first-team spot. At 18, he will not play every game but is definitely an exciting option from the bench for the Reds and his contract extension with Liverpool is certainly a big boost for the club.
