Norwich City star James Maddison seems to have sparked off a three-way battle between Premier League sides for his signature. Lavish spenders Everton are believed to be in the hunt but will face stiff competition from 2015-16 season English Premier League champions Leicester City while newly promoted side Fulham are also reportedly in within a shout.
The star midfielder will reportedly cost teams around £25m and it is believed that the Canaries are ready to cash in on their key player. The England U-21 star could be set to complete a move this week itself as both Everton and Leicester are wary of the interest shown by Premier League giants Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur in the recent past.
Maddison had a brilliant season in the recently concluded term as he went on to score 15 goals and create 11 assists in 49 games for the Canaries. The attacking midfielder is all class on the ball and has the flair and panache to create a difference on his own from midfield. He lit up the Championship with his executive level football and is now being rewarded with so many top-tier clubs interested in him.
The player is extremely smart with his movement, both with and without the ball and always seems to have that extra second in hand which allows him to get ahead of his opponent. He has a calm head on him and is extremely mature for someone his age. The player suffered an unfortunate knee ligament injury on the final match day of the Sky Bet Championship season but is expected to be fit by next month.
Norwich had a poor season in the Championship this time around and it seems the club is ready to part ways with their star man by cashing in on him. They want to get the money from Maddison as their parachute payments have dropped for next season.
As for Everton, the Toffees are assembling an expensive squad since last year. Their new owner, Farhad Moshiri spent a fortune in the market bringing in no less than 22 new faces to the club but success was still hard to come by.
