Everton are ready to reignite their interest in Andriy Yarmolenko after missing out on him last summer. The 28-year-old transferred from Dynamo Kiev to Borussia Dortmund for €25m after the German outfit parted ways with Ousmane Dembele. Now Marco Silva is plotting a move for the winger who has 77 caps to his name for Ukraine.
Yarmolenko made 36 appearances for BVB last season, scoring 10 and furthering 9 assists. He underwent a very frustrating injury concern late into the season which kept him glued to the sidelines.
The 6 feet 3-inch man has the skill and the attacking talent to make it big in the Evertonian ranks. He can take on players from the wide areas and has a prolific left foot. Yarmolenko is almost the perfect match to Silva’s needs at the Goodison Park.
The Toffees are starved in the wing department with just Theo Walcott, Yannick Bolasie and Nikola Vlasic in the club ranks. Bolasie underwent a horrific leg break in his first season at Merseyside and ever since has been trying to find his shooting boots.
Vlasic clearly still has to prove his worth in the English top-flight and is not exactly ready for regular first-team football. Everton could use Yarmalonko on the wide areas to better facilitate Cenk Tosun and Gylfi Sigurdsson into the squad.
With Wayne Rooney also pondering over his move to DC United, the creative midfielder will be heavily relied upon to drive the team’s offence next term. However, the question lies in whether he will quit the Westfalstadion after spending just one season there.
He is also guaranteed European football with the Bundesliga outfit including a challenge for the league title. Everton, on the other hand, finished in the 8th spot of the Premier League last term to lose out on European action and is yet to get the necessary returns on their heavy investments.
Farhad Moshiri expended close to £200m in the 2017/18 campaign which was followed up by highly disappointing results. Sam Allardyce pulled the team out of the relegation spots but could not hold down a winning run or challenge for on the European qualification spots.
The club is now headed towards a different direction with a relatively younger coach. The ownership has agreed to match their investments to get the similar results.

Silva should definitely go all in to convince the Ukrainian with a lucrative deal. Dortmund could also be persuaded with a sizeable bid, although they are expected to show some resistance.
