Crystal Palace are plotting a move to sign Stoke City midfielder Badou Ndiaye this summer. According to recent reports, the Eagles are keen on sealing a move for the Senegalese midfielder during this ongoing transfer period. However, they will face stiff competition from other English clubs in pursuit of the 27-year-old talent’s signature.
The Senegalese international signed for Stoke from Galatasaray during the January transfer window for a fee in the region of £14m. His agent has confirmed recently that Ndiaye will make a move away from the bet365 Stadium following the club’s relegation from the English top-flight. He had put in a number of excellent performances for Stoke during the course of last season which has not gone unnoticed by other clubs.
Ndiaye had featured in 13 league matches for the Potters last season, scoring two goals while providing one assist during that time. He is exactly the kind of midfielder who can flourish under the expert guidance of Roy Hodgson at Selhurst Park.
The 27-year-old is currently out on international duty for his nation in Russia and had featured during Senegal’s 2-2 draw with Japan in the group stages of the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
The Eagles had a difficult and gruelling league campaign last term but still managed to clinch an impressive 11th place finish in the English top tier. However, Roy Hodgson needs to make some shrewd additions in this summer transfer window if his side are to avoid being dragged into the relegation dogfight next year.
The potential acquisition of Ndiaye will undoubtedly bolster Hodgson’s midfield options going into the new season. The London club has a whole host of midfield talents such as Luka Milivojević, Yohan Cabaye, James McArthur and Lee Chung-Yong competing for a place in the Eagles starting XI. The addition of Ndiaye will definitely improve their team significantly and add more competition for places within Benitez’s squad.

The Selhurst outfit lacked creativity and energy from the midfield last season and recruiting Ndiaye would go a long way in helping Hodgson address that worry. The Senegalese talent has shown glimpses of his talents during his spell at the bet365 Stadium, which is why he could turn out to be a clever addition for Palace. It remains to be seen what lies ahead in the future of Ndiaye and whether he ends up sealing a move to Selhurst Park next season.
