The speculations were hot that this could be Moussa Dembele’s last season at Celtic Park but as the transfer has progressed it seems more and more likely that the Frenchman will stick with the Scottish giants at least for one more season. Brendan Rodgers himself claimed earlier that it will be tough for him to keep their star talent in the summer transfer window.
The Frenchman has now spent two years at Glasgow and in the last season, he managed 16 goals and 9 assists in 39 games in all competitions. He was out with an injury for some time and that didn’t allow him to be at the top of his game. Even then he managed to score 15 odd goals and that shows the talent of the 21 year old forward.
There were reports of him joining Premier League outfit Brighton and Hove Albion in the January transfer window but things didn’t materialise. Rodgers said during that period,”Moussa is a fantastic player and the reasons why he has come here have borne fruit. We wouldn’t want to lose him, but you have to think he’s a big talent and something may happen in the summer. We try and have the next one lined up.”
It is clear that Rodgers is ready in a case where Dembele leaves but as of now, all signs point that he might very well stay at Glasgow for another season.
Rodgers will be aware that his rivals are not going to sit tight after they saw his team sweep away another treble. It is expected that Rangers will do whatever in their means to end the Hoops’ dominance in Scottish Football and to achieve that they have taken a rather ambitious step by appointing Steven Gerrard as their manager.
Recently Celtic terminated the contract of their striker Nadir Ciftci an year early and it will be important for them to keep hold of their current set of forwards. They have been helped by Odsonne Edouard to repeat the glory, who was on loan at Celtic Park last season. There have been reports that Celtic will look to get him on a permanent basis and if he is signed up, he will certainly come in handy as he impressed in his loan spell. Apart from him, they have Leigh Griffiths who can start up front and the Scotsman has done well whenever he has been fit and available.

Dembele has played a huge part in securing the double treble and Rodgers will certainly be hoping to keep his striker at the helm as long as possible.
