Brendan Rodgers may have the strongest squad in Scotland but the way he has managed to dominate the domestic league will leave the fans excited for the new season. The next step for the Glasgow giants would be to fight in Europe and they will have to add some quality to their first team, to try and compete with the best in the game.
This has seen the former Liverpool manager been linked with a host of stars this transfer window and one name that is constantly doing the rounds is Abel Hernandez.
The 27-year old, who started his senior career with Central Espanol, moved to Europe for the first time with Palermo in Italy, where he made 111 league appearances in five years, bagging 31 goals, before moving to England with Hull City in 2014.
In his four seasons at the club, he played two Premier League campaigns, failing to keep the Tigers from facing relegation in either season. He registered 21 goals and two assists in the 2015-16 season in the Championship but failed to replicate it in the top flight, after Hull were promoted. And he slowly lost his place in the first team, making just eight league starts last season, picking up eight goals and an assist.
A centre-forward by trait, the 27 cap Uruguayan international failed to get on the plane to Europe for the World Cup but remains an established star in England. He may have lost some form in the last couple of campaigns but at just 27, he still has time to turn into a match winner in the country.
He is a natural finisher, with a keen eye for a pass. His constant search for space and his ability to bully even the best of defenders makes him a dangerous player in the final third. He is also happy to help with the dirty work when needed but is at his best playing on the shoulder of the final defender.

Hernandez has all the makings of a success striker at the highest level but needs to find consistency but Brendan Rodgers seems convinced that he is the right man for his side.
So it does come as a surprise that the likes of Leeds United, Aston Villa and Wolves are all interested in his services this summer, with the player having already confirmed his departure from Hull City. However, Celtic, who are out of England, can approach him before his contract expires at the end of the month, making them the favourites to land Hernandez this summer.
Coming in for free, he will add loads of quality to the Celtic side and could very well turn into a star under the Irish manager.
