The loss in Kyiv in the Champions League final last season have disheartened many a Liverpool fans but that does not take away anything from how well Jurgen Klopp has changed the side at Anfield. Liverpool are now genuine title contenders and are a side that can take on even the best teams in Europe.
But Klopp does not seem totally happy with the squad at his disposal and is still linked with moves for some exciting stars this summer, the latest name added to the list being Ousmane Dembele.
The French starlet was touted as the replacement for Neymar Jr at the Nou Camp, who made a shock move to PSG last summer. But Dembele, though showing glimpses of his best football, was just not consistent enough for Ernesto Valverde to stick with him for another season. And reports now suggest that Barcelona are ready to let him leave, just a year after signing him.
Dembele picked up an injury early last season and missed a couple of months but he ended the season with a bang and registered four goals and nine assists in just 23 appearances in all competitions. He is also a crucial part of the French national side looking to fight for the World Cup next season but is not in the good books of the Barcelona manager.
The same report from The Mirror claims that Barcelona are happy to let him leave, but will only do so on a two-year loan deal. Liverpool are reportedly favourites to land Dembele, more so after missing out on Fekir but is he the right man for the Reds at the moment?
There is no denying his quality on the field. He is mesmerizing with his dribbling while his pace and close control can embarrass even the best of defenders in Europe. He has already established himself at the highest level and has shown that he can adapt to a different league and if Klopp believes that the issues with his attitude can be gotten rid of, Dembele could be a game-changing signing for the Reds.
However, him joining Liverpool will mean that they will have to change their 4-3-3 system to a 4-2-3-1, using Roberto Firmino in-behind Mohamed Salah, who can play as a false-9. Dembele can slot in the right wing and could unleash an even more effective partnership up top for Liverpool.

He will not be happy with being a squad option if Klopp decides not to shift his system. So a lot depends on how the German gaffer at Anfield is planning for the future. But signing Dembele will only make them stronger. But do you think Liverpool should shell out millions for the French attacker?
