The clubs in the Premier League spent over £1bn last summer and that figure could be easily broken this time around. Top clubs in the country have already signed a number of stars for their first team next season but a few clubs are constantly in a tussle for a single player this summer. Most top clubs in the country are after a central defender, and one such player now on the market is Yerry Mina.
Having joined Barcelona just this January, Mina has been constantly overlooked in the first team by Ernesto Valverde. With the Catalan giants now planning to sign Arthur from Gremio, his place as a non-EU player at the club is in serious doubt. Reports suggest that they are ready to listen to offers and could even send him out on loan. He could be available for as low as €15m and here are three English clubs that should sign him up:
Manchester United:
The Red Devils are not happy with the likes of Phil Jones and Chris Smalling while Victor Lindelof is yet to adjust to the English conditions. Jose Mourinho is desperate to add a defender to his side this summer and is looking at the likes of Clement Lenglet and Toby Alderweireld for a move this summer. But due to different issues, a deal is yet to be struck, so they should definitely give the Colombian international a look. Though he is yet to prove himself at the highest stage, has all the attributes to be a success in England and could be a steal for Manchester United.
Liverpool:
The Reds have long suffered from lack of discipline in the back line. Their acquisition of Virgil van Dijk has solved that to a certain extent while Dejan Lovren seems an improved man. But they need another centre-back this summer and are linked with the likes of Jamaal Lascelles and James Tarkowski. But at just €15m, Yerry Mina is a definite option for Jurgen Klopp. He is young and perfect for Klopp’s system and alongside a colossus in Van Dijk, he could turn into a world beater, just next season.

Chelsea:
The unrest regarding the future of Antonio Conte has certainly affected Chelsea transfer business but they are one of the many English clubs in the transfer market for a defender. With David Luiz and Gary Cahill well past their best, Chelsea are looking at potential stars, who can walk into the first team. At just 23, Mina will be a long-term solution to this problem and a cheap one at that.
