Arsenal are interested in securing the signature of PSV Eindhoven playmaker Hirving Lozano this summer. According to recent reports, the Gunners are eager to make a move for the Mexican international during this summer transfer period.
The PSV star has lit up the 2018 FIFA World Cup with some dazzling performances so far. He put in a great display against Germany as he helped his country secure a 1-0 victory over the current world champions. The Mexican ace also had a great campaign in the Dutch Eredivisie last term when he scored 19 goals while grabbing 11 assists in 34 matches for PSV across all competitions. He is exactly the kind of talent who can flourish under the expert guidance of Unai Emery at the Emirates Stadium.
Lozano is good on the ball, can score goals regularly and has the ability to pick out a final pass in the attacking third which makes him a perfect fit for Emery’s style of play in North London. However, the Gunners are not the only ones looking to recruit him, with West Ham United also keeping tabs on the progress of the Mexican international.
The North London outfit had a mediocre season last term when they failed to taste any silverware and was unable to qualify for the Champions League. The new Gunners boss Unai Emery is now looking to revamp his squad so that they are well-equipped to challenge on all fronts in the upcoming campaign.
The potential acquisition of Lozano will definitely bolster Emery’s attacking options at the Emirates Stadium. Arsenal have a lot of classy attacking talents in their ranks such as Aaron Ramsey, Mesut Ozil, Danny Welbeck, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Alex Iwobi vying for a starting berth in Emery’s first XI. The addition of Lozano will add more competition for places within the Gunners squad and improve their team significantly going into the new season.
