After rejecting a new deal with Arsenal, Jack Wilshere is now being linked with a move to West Ham United. Wilshere recently confirmed that he is set to leave his boyhood club after failing to agree on a new contract. He did mention that a contract was actually offered to him with a pay cut but the new manager, Unai Emery couldn’t guarantee him regular first-team action and as a result, the 26-year-old midfielder decided to part ways with the club.
The Englishman has been at the club since 2001 and it must be really sad for the Arsenal faithful to see their star midfielder leave in the summer. Many are still of the opinion that he could have gone on to impress in the future at Emirates but the new gaffer certainly thinks otherwise.
The Hammers meanwhile are looking for a new beginning under Manuel Pellegrini and they will be looking to challenge the big boys of the Premier League. For that to happen, they need to add more depth and talent to their squad and Wilshere will certainly be a good buy in the transfer market.
Wilshere’s time at the London club has been plagued with injuries but off late, he once again became a regular starter for them. He made 40 appearances last term in all competitions and did look like getting back to his best. West Ham will certainly have a top talent at their hand if they manage to sign him.
Apart from the East London outfit, Everton and Crystal Palace have also been linked with a move for him and even clubs in the Serie A want a piece of the Englishman. However, it is likely that Wilshere will continue pursuing his footballing career in his homeland and maybe in the next few weeks, it will be clear where he will move.
The Hammers were dragged into a relegation battle in the last term but they did go on to secure their place in the top division with relative comfort in the end. Manuel Pellegrini will be in need of a good ball playing, creative midfielder to bring more attacking threat in front of goal as the likes of Mark Noble, Pedro Obiang and Cheikhou Kouyate are more suited to keep things tight in the middle of the park.

The Englishman can thrive under the Chilean manager and can get back to his former best when he was touted as a future England superstar. Even Wilshere will be desperate to showcase his prowess, as he was not picked for the 2018 World Cup squad and will like to prove his doubters wrong in the upcoming season.
