Latest reports coming out of Elland Road has confirmed that Felix Wiedwald is reportedly keen on leaving Leeds United with German side Eintracht Frankfurt interested in him. The player is reportedly unhappy with the lack of faith the fans have shown in him and wants to return to Germany.
With Wiedwald’s career at Elland road coming under the grey clouds, here are three players who we feel can do the job in goal for Leeds.
Willy Caballero
The Argentina international is the backup goalkeeper at Chelsea. He is well north of 35 and only has a handful of years left at the top. He was formerly of Manchester City for whom he was the second choice as well.
The keeper is a serial winner though and has won important league and domestic cup trophies in England. He has the experience of playing for the biggest sides and can be a real leader for Leeds at the backup.
His age will mean that he will not cost a lot to Leeds who will get a keeper of the Premier League status.
Sam Johnstone
The young England U21 international spent the last season away from Old Trafford out on loan at Aston Villa. He was extremely impressive for the Villans as he helped the club to a top-six finish and earned them a place in the playoffs.
However, his loan spell was only one season long and he will now return to Manchester United with his contract on the verge of getting over. Leeds should look to bring in this young English player as he can be a real asset for the club in the present and for the future.
He has experience of playing in the EFL Championship and hence should be more than comfortable playing for Leeds. At Manchester United, Johnstone will always be behind David De Gea and hence he also might be keen on a transfer.
Danny Ward
Another young goalkeeper from a big team. Liverpool’s third or possibly fourth choice goalkeeper Danny Ward could be a target for the Whites. He will not want to waste the crucial years of his career sitting on the bench and he will want to play regular football at any other club.

Liverpool could well bring in new goalkeepers this summer after Loris Karius failed to deliver this season. He could well become the number one for Leeds and a transfer for Ward would ideally suit all three parties since Liverpool very rarely use him.
