Rangers are looking for a new beginning under Steven Gerrard and many are considering that they have taken a huge risk by appointing a relatively inexperienced manager. However, the Gers have been on fire in the transfer market as they have secured one signing after another and are looking hungry for more.
The Gers were extremely shoddy at the back last season and that is one of the first areas which Gerrard has decided to cover and he has brought in the likes of Connor Goldson and Nikola Katic as solid centre-back options for the upcoming season. Another area they need to look after is the striker’s position and they have been linked with a move for quite a few forwards.
Teddy Bears are currently dependent heavily upon Alfredo Morelos and a lot will rest on the shoulder of the young Colombian in the upcoming season. Apart from him, they don’t have many out and out goalscoring options and it is clear that the former Liverpool legend will look to bring in someone who can share the burden of scoring goals upfront.
Umar Sadiq
The Gers have been linked with this young AS Roma starlet and Gerrard has himself confirmed their interest in the Nigerian striker. This will be considered as a big coup for the Glaswegian outfit as Sadiq can be termed as a traditional No.9 and he has been banging goals left right and centre at the youth level.
Quite a few top European clubs were after him at one point in time and at just 21, he is being touted as a future star. However, this will be a short-term solution for Gerrard as it is likely that Roma will only let the striker leave on a loan move.
Thierry Ambrose
The Manchester City striker has impressed everyone in his loan spell with NAC Breda where he managed 10 goals and 6 assists in 31 encounters and Gerrard might consider making a move for him in the transfer market. He is still just 21 and has a huge potential and will be a solid long-term option for the Gers.

Jack Marriott
The 23-year-old striker took the League one by storm as he managed 33 goals in all competitions for Peterborough United. He ended up as the top scorer in the league and has been linked with a move to various Championship clubs.
Gerrard can surely consider making a move for him as he has all the facets to his game which will make him a success at the Ibrox Stadium.
