Rangers have started the new era under Steven Gerrard with a lot of gung-ho and the board has shown good intent to support Gerrard by bringing in quality signings at the club. The Gers have already secured the likes of Scott Arfield and Ovie Ejaria. The Liverpool man is on a season-long loan deal. In defence, they have gone on to bring Connor Goldson and Nikola Katic. They ended up signing Jamie Murphy on a permanent basis and they even brought in Allan McGregor in the goalkeeping department.
All these signings have been secured and it is not even one month since the transfer period began. Gerrard went on to explain the thought process behind these signings, he said,” Obviously, it is out there now that we have, already, got a decent start in terms of improving the goalkeeper area, where we have added Allan McGregor. He is a legend who knows the club inside out. He is certainly a positive signing who is up for it and can’t wait to get going. Scott Arfield was a no-brainer on a free-transfer. He will help in a lot of ways both on and off the pitch. He is a fantastic player.”
He further added,” That was the message when we spoke to these players. It’s not about coming to Rangers and being a Rangers player, it’s actually about coming, being a Rangers player and then defending the shirt for your life, and both [Nikola] Katic and [Connor] Goldson are right up for the challenge and that excites me.”
The window is yet not over and we look at three more players which Gerrard might go after.
Umar Sadiq
AS Roma striker has been linked with a move to Ibrox and he can share the burden in the goal-scoring department. Sadiq spent the second half of the last season with Eredivisie outfit Breda where he managed 5 goals in 12 appearances. Currently, Alfredo Morelos is the only out and out goal scoring option up front and it is highly likely that Gerrard will move in for a striker next and it very well could be Sadiq.
John McGinn
The Hibernian FC midfielder has been impressive for his country and club. He can fit into Gerrard’s plan in midfield and can play the role of a creator. The Gers have been linked with him for quite some time now but nothing has materialised.

Rhian Brewster
Gers have covered almost all the departments and it seems like they will be in need of a proven goal scorer. Brewster is a Liverpool player currently and has excelled at the youth level for club and country. He was the top goal scorer for England in the u-17 World Cup held last year and Gerrard must have seen him from close quarters. He will certainly be a good addition for the Gers.
