Wolves are being linked to Brazilian midfielder Josef De Souza who currently plies his trade in the Turkish League for Fenerbahce. The midfielder has been regular in the middle of the park for his team this season as they finished second and missed out on the League title by just three points.
Nuno Espirito Santo will know that the Premier League won’t be an easy nut to crack and they will need reinforcements in the summer to be in the top flight for years to come. Santo has transformed this team since he took over and even off the field in the transfer windows, they have been smart with their signings.
Souza can form an able partnership with Ruben Neves and he can control the game from the middle of the park for the West Midlands club. It is expected that the Turkish club will demand €12m for and we have seen that the Championship winners will not be deterred by the price tag. However, the fact that he is 29 might put Wolves slightly off.
The Brazilian has even gone on to represent his national side. However, he never managed to establish himself at the Selecao. Souza is traditionally a defensive midfielder but can play in a more central role as well. He has even played as a right back when his teams were short on option in that position.
If this signing is done, Neves will probably enjoy more freedom in the midfield and that will allow him to express himself and dictate play from the middle of the park. The signing of Souza can be a smart piece of business from Nuno Santo as it will allow Neves to unleash his true attacking potential.

Wolves might lose the services of Alfred N’diaye who was on loan from Villareal and he has been a regular feature for them in the defensive midfield role. The midfielder has impressed with his performances at Molineux and it is expected that the Spanish outfit will most likely have him back at their club for next season. In that case, Nuno Santo will be desperately in need of a defensive midfielder and he can probably count upon the experience of Souza. However, it will be interesting to see whether he will be able to cope with the demands of English football as he has never played in any of the top 5 premier divisions of the world.
