Wolves are reportedly interested in signing Giorgian de Arrascaeta from Brazilian side Cruzeiro. The young playmaker is only 23 years old and has a bright future ahead of him. He has already played for the national team of Uruguay and is on the plane to Russia once again to feature for his national side in the upcoming 2018 FIFA World Cup.
The playmaker is a tricky customer on the ball. He is versatile enough to play on either wing despite being predominantly a number 10. His comparatively smaller stature allows him to run at defenders and beat them with close control. He has a quick turn of pace and excellent drop of the shoulders to feint past defenders. He also has a low centre of gravity which allows him to wrong-foot defenders.
The player has not been a key part of the Cruzeiro side, however, and has only made 10 appearances this season scoring 3 goals and creating 3 more in those matches. It is believed that the player is being also chased by French giants AS Monaco who have identified him as their target. The French club are reportedly ready to pay £20million for his signature. The player has made 73 appearances in the Brazilian side scoring 16 goals.
It is now being reported that Wolves want to bring him in as well. The English side recently gained promotion to the Premier League after winning the Sky Bet Championship in fine style. Under new coach Nuno Espirito Santo, the Wolves board made several loan signings last year, many of whom were star players.
The results were there for everyone to see as it helped Wolves claim the league trophy in relatively easy fashion. They have a talented group of players in their squad but the promotion to the Premier League will mean that now it is a whole new ball game.
The Wolves team will be up against harder oppositions and reinforcement will be necessary. Getting a playmaker will help Wolves get more options up front to exploit. Although their formation of 3-4-3 will mean that they do not need a playmaker per say, however, the Uruguayan will be an exciting addition and can easily fit into the side from the wings.

The only problem for Wolves will be to match the high price Monaco are ready to pay and that might see them miss out on the talented playmaker.
