Norwich City are reportedly interested in signing Marvin Ducksch, the German forward. The striker plays for Holstein Kiel and is the leading goal scorer in Bundesliga II. It is believed that the Canaries are looking at him to solve the long-awaited problems up front.
This is what their head coach Daniel Farke had to say, “If we had all our offensive players from injury it would help but it is also up to us to find some solutions and find some quality. We need players who are able to be there with determining goals in games when we don’t create so many chances against teams who park the bus.”
“When we think about the transfer window we will try to add some players who can score in difficult situations. It is not easy to find them. If we could spend £15m then you can find this quality but we have to be creative and smart. I am totally happy with the work and the relationship with Stuart Webber.”
Farke is impressed with youngster Tristian but believes his side will need a good mix of youth and experience.
“A guy like Tristan is not far away. I watched the last development game against Aston Villa and he scored,” he said. “But it is a big difference from playing in the under-23s and being a striker at Championship level.”
“We are watching carefully but it is not a case that six or seven can play immediately. We are always looking at the guys in the under-23s and under-18s. It is important for a club who is not able to spend millions on new players to develop your own.”
“But it is also important to wait for the right moment. We have a lot of young lads on the pitch already in the first team. Look at Preston, where Adam Phillips and Todd Cantwell were on the bench.”
“Yes, we are struggling to score goals but you have to be careful to throw so many in. It is about the right balance between youth and experience.”

This is what has led to the reports linking him with a move for Ducksch who will add some much-needed firepower up front. The 24-year-old has only a year left on his contract and has worked previously with Farke at Dortmund. It is being hoped that the player will favour the move owing to their previous relationship. Let us hope that Norwich City get their man and he will be worth a shot for the Canaries.
