Young Norwich City defender Michee Efete is on his way out of Norwich City. The Congolese defender confirmed the news by announcing it on Twitter. Efete has been part of Norwich City u23 team for quite some years now. He managed just 3 appearances in the Championship this season as they have a good amount of centre-back options like Grant Hanley, Timm Klose and
The Canaries finished 14th in the Championship this season and one would have expected much better from them as they were recently playing in the English top flight. Their season ended on a sour note as they lost to Sheffield Wednesday 5-1. They will certainly be looking for some reinforcements in the summer to come close to the playoff spot next season.
Efete was on a loan spell with Icelandic club Breidablik last year and made nine appearances, which helped in triggering a one-year extension with the Canaries. He might not have been a first choice centre-back for Norwich City but was an able option and was regular for them in their u-23 development side.
With him leaving, we look at three replacements Daniel Farke can go after to replace him and bring in more competition for places.
Jack O’Connell
The Sheffield United defender will be more than a good replacement for the Canaries. He has been a regular fixture in his team this season and has been instrumental for them at the back. The promising English defender has played for the English u19 side and is considered a top talent. Farke will certainly benefit from a signing like this as he will add more competition for places in his current setup.
Matthew Pennington
The Leeds United defender has featured 23 times for them this term. Like Norwich, Leeds were expected to have a better season but they have struggled in the latter half of the season. They were in with a shout for a playoff spot in December but stumbled on a downwards spiral as the season progressed and the Whites finally ended up finishing 13th. However, Pennington has done well when called upon and he will certainly bolster their squad if he makes a move to Carrow Road.

Jason McCarthy
McCarthy is another one of the promising young English centrebacks whom the Norwich City manager can consider. McCarthy could be available on a cut-price deal as his team Barnsley are going down to the League one. He has made 24 appearances in all competitions and has looked good more often than not.
