Newcastle United star Ayoze Perez is reportedly on the radar of Spanish side Real Betis. Perez has turned in a hot run of form in the last two months. He has scored 6 goals in the last 8 matches for Newcastle, a streak which saw an upturn in the results for the Magpies and it helped them finish in the top half of the Premier League table.
He joined Newcastle back in 2014 for a meagre fee of £1.6million. The player was 21 back then and signed a long-term contract which has another three years to run. The player was incredibly talented from his early days and has been a part of the first team always.
He has already registered over 100 games for the Toons and scored 35 goals in the process, an extremely good return given that he plays as a withdrawn forward for a mid-table team.
The player has been linked to a number of powerhouses in England and a few abroad with Real Betis being the latest suitors. Perez for his part has maintained that he would prefer to stay in England rather than go abroad.
He said: “I feel like I want to keep playing in the Premier League. I am really enjoying it and I am really happy in Newcastle. They gave me the opportunity to play in the Premier League, to score a lot of goals, to be at the top level. You never know what can happen in the future, we will see. But I can’t say anything bad about Newcastle. They gave me this life and I really appreciate it.”
It now seems Newcastle could have a battle on their hands keeping Perez. Even though he might not want to move abroad, Newcastle’s lack of ambition could see them lose Rafa Benitez and that might lead to the exit of Ayoze Perez as well.
The player is a versatile forward who can play on the wings, behind the striker or lead the line. He is of the slick build which allows him to turn easily on defenders and has a fast turn of pace that helps him run away from them.

The player is a crucial part of the Newcastle squad and needs to stay if the Magpies want to have another successful season next term. The Magpies should be stern on their stand and must work on new signings to ensure that they do not lose players and managers with great potential.
