Manchester United are ready to offer a new and improved contract to Marcus Rashford after the striker revealed that he is unhappy at the club. According to recent reports, the English forward has told his teammates that he has been left frustrated playing a bit-part role following the arrivals of Romelu Lukuku and Alexis Sanchez in recent transfer windows. It is believed that the Manchester outfit are currently in panic mode over the future of Rashford and will look to offer him a new contract after the 2018 FIFA World Cup comes to a close later this year.
The 20-year-old can be considered as one of the promising young talents in European football which is why the Red Devils are desperate to hang on to him by keeping him happy for the years to come. The English forward has mostly been subject to appearances from the bench with Alexis Sanchez, Romelu Lukaku, Juan Mata and Jesse Lingard all currently ahead of him in the United pecking order.
Rashford has featured in 50 matches for the Reds of Manchester this season, scoring 12 goals while creating 9 assists in all competitions. He has graduated from the United academy and at the mere of 20, the English speedster has massive potential which Jose Mourinho’s team could help him fulfil in the coming years.
Manchester United have completed their league campaign in the second place with a total tally of 81 points after 38 league matches. They are now getting ready for a season-defining encounter against Chelsea in the FA Cup final next weekend. Retaining some of their top talents could go a long way in helping them bridge the gap to Manchester City next season but for players such as Rashford, it is extremely important to get regular first-team experience so that they can take their game to the next level.
United would do well to keep hold of him but for Rashford, a move away from Old Trafford could benefit his career in the long-run. The English forward is highly versatile and can operate in a number of different positions across the frontline. The 20-year-old can play on either flank or as a centre-forward up top which makes him a valuable asset for the Red Devils.
