Manchester United are reportedly interested in Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-André Ter Stegen. The reports do sound bizarre at first but it seems that United have a good enough reason for chasing the Barcelona star.
Reports have claimed that David De Gea could be on the move this summer. The Spaniard has long since been linked with a move to Spanish giants Real Madrid. However, a move has never transpired with the two clubs coming close to a transfer two seasons back.
However, the deal fell through in stunning fashion in what is now known as “fax machine” saga. However, now it seems United may have to deal with a new suitor for De Gea. It is being reported that French giants Paris Saint Germain are the latest club to be interested in securing the services of David De Gea.
United have fended off the interest of Madrid confidently in the past but Paris may prove to be a tricky customer. It seems that Mourinho may well be preparing to bring in replacements for their Spanish star. David De Gea has been one of the stars in Europe for the last few seasons. He is by far the best keeper in England and some will debate the best in the world at the moment.
Hence, losing De Gea will definitely be a big loss for United and they will need a like for like replacement for him. Although it might prove to be difficult getting a keeper of De Gea’s class, United could go for someone almost as good as him. This is what has seen their interest shift to Barcelona’s star goalkeeper Marc-André Ter Stegen.
The German has been in excellent form this season for the Catalan giants and may well be in line to start for the German national team in this year’s FIFA World Cup in Russia. With Manuel Neuer still recovering from his injury, Ter Stegen will definitely be the next in line.

He has been a star in Barcelona’s defence this season and has been an integral part in their success in the domestic season. Barcelona will definitely not want to lose their man but might be resigned to the chase if United come up with an amount of 100 million dollars for Ter Stegen. All in all, a tough summer awaits with De Gea’s transfer holding the key to everything.
