Wolverhampton Wanderers are expected to spend millions in the upcoming transfer window as they will be preparing for life in the Premier League. Nuno Santo has made big strides with this side as they went on to secure the title and top-flight status quite easily in the end.
One of the Wolves player, who is on loan to Millwall, is Ben Marshall. He has been with the Lions since January and has played a crucial role in their latter half of the season. Millwall narrowly missed out on the sixth spot in the league table as they finished the season on 72 points.
Marshall did well in his six-month loan spell as he scored three goals and assisted 5 more in his 16 appearances. The Lions used him down the right and it seems like they might make a move for him as they want him on a permanent basis in the summer. He instantly hit the ground running and impressed everyone and popped in with some crucial goals to keep Millwall in the playoff hunt. His teammate Jed Wallace talked about the impact that the Wolves loanee has had on the team.
He said,”We need to bring in two or three players that will help us push on. Maybe we should have got three-for-two from Wolves last season.”(Referring to his move and George Saville who signed last summer from Wolves.)
He lavished praise on his teammate and further added,”Ben has been great on and off the pitch. He has added a lot of quality and he is very down to earth. That suits what we have here.”
Jed Wallace also claimed that the gaffer will also want to make a permanent move for Marshall. He said,”It’s been the best three years the club has had in probably the last three decades and we need to improve again for next season.
”I want other wingers at the club to give me competition and help me push on and be better. We recruited well in January and players had to up their performances.I’m sure that’s what the gaffer wants again next year.”- he was quoted.

Wolves already have the likes of Diogo Jota, Helder Costa and Ivan Cavaleiro and have quite a few options up front. Marshall wasn’t assured of regular game time and as a result, Nuno Santo allowed him to join Millwall on loan in January. One doesn’t see Marshall in the West Midlands club’s plan for the future and it won’t be a bad idea for them to sell him to the Lions in the summer.
