Leicester City have been linked with a move for Norwich City star Josh Murphy. The 23-year-old has been in excellent form this season scoring 11 goals in the process. He is said to be also on the radar of Swansea City and Crystal Palace.
If Murphy were to move, he would be following up on his brother, who made a move to Newcastle United last year for £12 million. Josh Murphy is a winger who has played over 45 games for the club this season scoring 10 goals and creating 2 more. The player was out on loan at MK Dons a few years ago and has risen significantly through the ranks at the Norwich City.
He is a stylish, versatile winger who can play from multiple positions and has been essential for the Canaries this season. However, Norwich, who are in the mid-table position now, may lose their man to England’s top tier side Leicester City.
The Foxes are supposedly interested in him and want to take him away. Currently, they have experienced players in the squad like Marc Albrighton, young talents like Demarai Gray and superstars like Riyad Mahrez.
While the situation for Albrighton is more or less settled, a young player like Gray might just develop fast and move on any time of the season. As for Mahrez, the Algerian winger has been seeking out a move for years now. He was on the verge of joining Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City side this year in the January transfer window but a move failed to transpire.
The Algerian has been quiet for now but could be on the move again this summer. Pep Guardiola had made it clear he would be back again for the player.
“He’s a Leicester player,” he said, according to Sky Sports.
“Everybody knows we were trying but we cannot afford, at this moment, this amount of what they are asking. I understand perfectly.
“We tried to do it in the (European) summertime, we tried to do it now, but like summer, they locked the door and we can go to the summer and holidays.”

This would mean that Leicester might just be a vital player short and will need to buff up their squad again. This would then make the transfer of Murphy to Leicester a fantastic move to size up the Foxes squad and retain their attacking brand of football that won them the Premier League trophy in the 2015/16 season.
