He is yet to make a senior team appearance but seems to have impressed his coaches while playing for the U23. Hosannah was excited about this new deal and in an interview he said,-”I’m just really happy to be part of this club and I’ve really enjoyed my first season here, so I’m delighted to be staying for another couple of years.”
“It has been a really positive season, I have really improved as a player and now I am really looking forward to pushing on.”
This is certainly a good move by the Peacocks as they have been slightly short on depth in the right-back department. Luke Ayling was sidelined for five months after suffering an ankle injury and his replacement Vurnon Anita has been well below par since his move from Newcastle United. So this certainly is a smart move from Paul Heckingbottom as he will need the young player’s services for the next season.
Leeds United have struggled this season as they are languishing on the 13th spot and look nowhere close to the playoffs. They will certainly have to improve especially on the defensive front to have any hopes of being in the top 6 for the next season.
Keeping Hosannah is certainly the right step ahead and the youngster is certainly looking forward to his time in the first team. He was quoted as saying,”“Leeds is a massive club and has a reputation for bringing through young players to the first team, like you’ve seen this season with how many players have done this and hopefully I can be one of the next few to come through.”

Heckingbottom will certainly need more help from Owner Andrea Radrizzani if they are serious about qualifying for the Premier League next season. The results this season has certainly been below par at best as the Peacocks have not even looked like challenging for the playoffs in the second half of the season. Hosannah’s deal is a good step and it is one for the future as the youngster is still developing. The manager will be hoping that he will become an impressive defender for the Whites in the next couple of seasons.
