Leeds United are looking to extend the stay of their talented fullback Tom Pearce. The 20-year old’s contract is set to run out in the summer and the Peacocks are willing to offer him a three-year deal which will secure his future at the Elland road. The youngster went on to make his debut under Paul Heckingbottom and it seems that he has managed to impress his manager. He made 5 appearances this term and even managed to open his goal-scoring account.
The Whites might make some changes as they will look to push for the playoff spot next season. The just-concluded campaign for Leeds ended on a sorry note as they finished 13th. A lot was expected out of them, especially after the start they got where they were unbeaten in their first seven games. However, as the season progressed their wheels came off and Thomas Christiansen was sacked. Heckingbottom took over from him in February and he also hasn’t been able to prevent his side from their slide.
There have been reports of various Premier League clubs who are vying for the signature of this talented left-back and the Peacocks will be hoping that he signs their new contract otherwise they will run the risk of losing him for free. The 20-year-old is the product of Leeds United academy but if clubs from English top flight make a concrete offer for him, his head will certainly turn.
Leeds United have had issues at the back and especially in the left back department. At the beginning of the season, they used Borthwick Jackson who was on loan from Manchester United but after few uninspiring and poor performances, he was dropped and was sent to his parent club in January.
They signed Laurens De Bock in the January transfer window and the Belgian failed to do his duties in the left back position. The situation was so dire that Heckingbottom had to use Vurnon Anita, a defensive midfielder in the left back position and he brought in Tom Pearce from the academy to add depth to the squad.

The board and the manager will certainly be trying all means to make him agree to sign a contract and only time will tell whether the English youngster will commit his future at Elland Road.
