Fulham secured a place in the Premier League by winning the playoff finals. They defeated Aston Villa at Wembley and Slavisa Jokanovic is already looking for reinforcements to make sure they continue in the Premier League for years to come.
They are being linked to Bristol City defender Aden Flint and this is not the first time they are looking to snap him up as even in the January transfer window, the Serbian manager was keen on having Flint in his side. Now with promotion secured, they have certainly boosted their chances of getting their man.
The 28-year-old defender was a constant feature at the back for Bristol City as he racked up 39 appearances in the Championship. He even managed to get himself on the scoresheet 8 times and that is certainly a rich haul of goals for a centre back. Fulham will know they will need a good amount of squad depth to survive in the Premier League.
We have seen Jokanovic’s side build up from the back and that has been a regular feature of their game. For that, they need ball-playing defenders and defenders who are not hurried when the attackers are pressing. Flint has the capabilities to be such a defender and that is one of the reasons why the Serbian manager is keen on having him at his club.
The real test of Fulham was not qualifying for the Premier League but it will be surviving in the English top flight. We have seen quite a few teams over the years go down after qualification and Jokanovic will be wary of the fact that his real test will be in the upcoming season.
The Cottagers have used Tim Ream and Denis Odoi as their preferred centre-back pairing. Odoi is traditionally a right back but because of the exploits of Ryan Fredericks down the right, Odoi had to come in and fill the centre back role. Fulham will be looking for some well-established players to guard their backline and Aden Flint can be a good addition in the defensive department for Jokanovic.

However, Flint has no experience at the top level of English football, which should be a point to consider for the Whites before they make a move for the Championship defender. It has been seen in the past that superstars from the lower divisions fail to replicate their form in front of the big-name clubs in the top flight and Jokanovic will definitely have that in his mind before making a move for Flint.
