In a bizarre series of events, it is being claimed that Chelsea could be about to bring in Gonzalo Higuain to England. The Blues had a rather poor season after romping to the league title in the 2016/17 season. This has naturally led to reports that the Blues could be on the verge of sacking their Italian boss Antonio Conte and appointing his compatriot Maurizio Sarri, formerly of Napoli.
Sarri parted ways with Napoli last week and it is believed that Chelsea are about to bring him in as he has been considered as one of the favourites to take over the hot seat at Stamford Bridge.
The former Napoli boss has had an excellent season at Naples. He led the Italian side to a second place finish in the league. Napoli were on the verge of winning the Scudetto credit to their brilliant attacking displays over the duration of the season. Much of the credit will go to their boss who has been instrumental in reviving the Naples based outfit and tactically outsmarting the so-called “bigger” oppositions in the Serie A.
Sarri, should he come in, will definitely want to bring him in a few players of his own. One such player who has been linked is Sarri’s old favourite Gonzalo Higuain. The pair worked together at Napoli where he became the country’s record goalscorer in a single season after netting 36 goals in 35 league games. His splendid form at Napoli earned him a move to Juventus who paid a mammoth £75m fee to break his release clause.
Higuain’s move to Juventus, albeit expensive has been one of success. He is the hitman at Turin scoring 55 goals in 104 games in two seasons at the club. Higuain now might be on the move once again to Chelsea if Sarri gets his wish and the top job at Stamford Bridge.

The deal might be easier than expected as Juventus are reportedly interested in Chelsea forward Alvaro Morata. The Spaniard has had a tough debut season and might want to move back to the familiar grounds of Turin. He failed to make the cut for the FIFA World Cup squad of the Spanish national team and might want to move away from London to improve his form and career. The summer window has just opened and it now remains to be seen if everyone gets their wish.
