Chelsea are lining up a summer move for Crystal Palace forward Wilfried Zaha. According to recent reports, the Blues are interested in securing the services of the English winger when the transfer window opens in the summer. It is believed that the 25-year-old midfielder is a transfer target for a number of clubs which includes Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City who are all in pursuit of his signature this summer.
The 25-year-old had previously failed to cut the mustard at Manchester United but now that he has grown and developed his game at Selhurst Park, he could flourish with a move to a top club. Recent reports have suggested that Chelsea are ready to challenge Liverpool and Manchester City on the hunt for the £50m-rated Zaha’s signature this summer. However, the Palace forward signed a new, long-term contract with the club last summer so Roy Hodgson will be under no pressure to sell unless the right offer comes in for the player.
The Blues of West London has a tally of 69 points after Gameweek 37 and are currently sitting in the fifth position in the league standings with a season-defining league match versus Huddersfield Town looming on the horizon. The Stamford Bridge-based team needs to make some quality acquisitions in the summer so that they can compete for some major silverware next season.
Zaha has enjoyed a terrific season at Selhurst Park and has put in a number of eye-catching displays during the course of this campaign which has not gone unnoticed. He has been one of the main reasons why Palace have managed to avoid relegation from the Premier League this term. Some sources are now claiming that the Ivory Coast international is open to making a move away from London in search of European football.
The potential acquisition of Zaha will undoubtedly bolster Chelsea’s attacking options ahead of the new campaign. The West London side has the likes of Eden Hazard, Willian, Pedro and Ross Barkley vying for a place in Conte’s first-team. The addition of Zaha will definitely add more competition for places within the Blues team and improve their squad depth significantly going into the new season.

Zaha is extremely versatile and can operate on either flank or as a centre-forward up top which makes him a perfect fit for any of his potential suitors. Only time will tell what lies ahead in the future of the Palace winger and whether he ends up making a move to Stamford Bridge in the near future.
