According to latest reports, RB Leipzig are looking to make Ademola Lookman a permanent feature for them next season after he impressed them in his loan spell where he managed 5 goals and 4 assists in 11 games. Leipzig’s sporting director Ralf Rangnick has indicated that they will like to keep the talented 20-year-old winger at the club for next season as well and Everton will have a decision to make whether to sell or keep their talented winger.
Everton had an average season this term as they finished 8th but much more was expected of them as they had spent a good amount of money in the transfer market. They were at least expected to challenge for the Europa League spot but they were out of the reckoning early as they were hovering around the relegation zone under Ronald Koeman.
On the back of poor results, Koeman was sacked and the experienced Sam Allardyce was brought in. He sent Lookman on loan in the January transfer window as the youngster was unable to get regular playing time and the Toffees went on to sign Theo Walcott in the same window.
The youngster has represented England at various youth levels and is touted to have a big future.
Lookman’s time has been limited as he is competing for places with Yannick Bolasie, Nikola Vlasic and Dominic Calvert Lewin. Calvert Lewin is a centre-forward but can play down the left as well and that is one of the reasons why Allardyce let Lookman go on loan as he had a good number of options at his disposal.
It is still not clear who will take the top job at Goodison Park and Lookman’s future can depend on whether the new manager wants to keep him in his plans. The winger had joined the Merseyside club in 2017 from Charlton Athletic and the deal was expected to be around £10m. That is certainly a good amount of money which the Toffees spent to bring on the then 19 years old at Goodison Park and they will be hoping that he can turn into a proven talent soon.

It will be foolish of Everton if they sell him as he has hardly been given time to prove himself in the English top flight. The winger has all the capabilities to become a regular starter for them especially after an inconsistent season from Yannick Bolasie and the Merseyside club should certainly stick with the youngster for another year or two so that he can show his worth.
