The UEFA Champions League finalists, Liverpool, have been nothing short of splendid in front of goal throughout the season. They signed Mohamed Salah from AS Roma last year and the Egyptian has proven to be a messiah for the team.
He has broken several records and now stands at par with Lionel Messi and ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo with 43 goals to his name this term in all competitions. He has formed a deadly partnership with Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane and the trio have terrorized not only the English teams but also every team in Europe as well.
They have put together a splendid run in Europe and have beaten teams like AS Roma, Manchester City and FC Porto in their run to the final this season. In England, they were the first team this season to put a stop to the winning juggernaut of Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.
In the domestic circuit, however, despite having a brilliant attack, their defence has been shaky. They have almost qualified for the final European spot for the next term but face the last stern test against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. The Blues have been below par but are making a late charge for the fourth spot this season.
The Blues will need to beat Liverpool and also hope that Klopp’s men drop points against Brighton in their last match of the season to overtake them. Tomorrow’s match will be a fascinating watch as it might turn out to be a virtual playoff between Chelsea and Liverpool for the fourth spot.
Klopp is likely to field the first team and this is how they might line up.
Formation: 4-3-3
Defence
Lorius Karius will be once again playing in goal for the Reds. Virgil Van Dijk might be partnering Dejan Lovren in central defence for Liverpool. Andy Robertson will be expected to continue at left-back with Nathaniel Clyne expected to start for Liverpool at right back.
Midfield
Jordan Henderson will be expected to lead the side while playing as a central holding midfielder. His two midfield partners are expected to be James Milner and Georginio Wijnaldum.
Attack
Mohamed Salah will be playing from his usual right flank position against his former side with Sadio Mane playing from the left wing and Roberto Firmino playing as the false nine up front. They have been the best attack of the season without a doubt and with Salah spearheading, the Liverpool fans can see goals galore once again.
