Celtic can lose the services of Odsonne Edouard as the young striker has been linked with a mystery foreign club. The 20-year old enjoyed a decent loan spell at Celtic Park as he managed 11 goals and four assists in all competitions. It was expected that Brendan Rodgers will look to sign him on a permanent basis in the summer but an interest from an unknown club can make things complicated.
According to reports, his parent club Paris Saint Germain are going to demand £5m for the striker and another £5m in add-ons. The youngster shot into limelight in January when he scored the winner against Celtic’s arch-rivals Rangers at Ibrox Stadium where Brendan Rodgers’ side secured a crucial 3-2 win.
The Hoops might have been dominating the Scottish Premiership but they will be wary of the fact that their rivals are not going to lie down for long. Their rivals Rangers are making some moves themselves in the transfer market and Celtic too will need to be at their top of the transfer business.
Leigh Griffiths and Moussa Dembele are the other strike force options whom they have used but there have been rumours that Dembele might leave the club and that will leave the side short on the attacking front. So it is important for Rodgers to secure the signing of Edouard.
In case they are unable to sign him, we look at three possible replacements they can go after.
Marcus Thuram
The son of former French international Lillian Thuram has been looking to make his name in French football. The youngster has been a regular feature in the French first division for Guingamp who finished 12th in the league. The 20-year-old managed four goals and three assists and he certainly has a huge future up ahead of him.
Danny Ings
The Liverpool striker has been failing to cut the mustard at Anfield and he has been struggling to get regular game time as Liverpool have a terrific trio upfront. His time at Merseyside has also been ruined due to injuries but Ings is still in good shape and will like to move to a club where he can play week in week out to get back his confidence. The striker can be a good signing for Rodgers and he will be more than an able replacement for Edouard.

Leonardo Ulloa
The striker has been out of favour at Leicester City as he has been competing for places with the likes of Jamie Vardy and Shinji Okazaki. He had spent a loan spell at Brighton and Hove Albion in the previous season. The Foxes might look to sell him in the summer as he will be entering the final year of his contract. Celtic can snap him up and this can turn out to be a shrewd signing for them as he has the ability to lead the attack line well.
