Reports had surfaced earlier stating Cardiff City’s intentions to sign West Brom striker, Salomon Rondon. The Bluebirds have already earned themselves a place in the Premier League for the 2018/19 season and are apparently ready to spend £12m on the 28-year-old.
The Baggies are almost certain to go down to the Championship and Rondon is one of the first names to make a probable club-exit this summer. The Venezuelan international is one of the Premier League’s proven number nines who can make real damage with the right supply from the back.
West Brom have managed to stay unbeaten in the last 5 games under interim-boss, Darren Moore and have a slim chance of making a miraculous escape (at the time of this article being written, the Swansea Vs Southampton game is poised interestingly at 0-0 with just 23 minutes in). That will be a major factor in deciding Rondon’s future at the English top-flight but for the time being, let us take a look into the likely possibility of him quitting the Hawthorns.
Rondon’s exit will obviously leave a massive gap in the Albion lineup and someone will have to be signed as a replacement. Here are a few candidates, the Throstles should consider making an official approach towards.
Abel Hernandez
The Hull City striker is poised to quit the Championship outfit himself. We have seen Hernandez take the pitch in both the second division and the Premier League and he has proven his worth. He knows how to hold up the game and link up with his teammates. Other than the normal jobs of a centre-forward, he is also capable of taking on opposition defenders on the dribble.
The current season has been a disappointment due to an unfortunate Achilles tendon injury he suffered in early August. He came back strong with an 8-goal showing in his 10 appearances, increasing his total scoring tally to 39 for the Tigers. He has also been capped 27 times for the Uruguay national team and currently sits closely behind Edinson Cavani and Luis Suarez as the second option.
Danny Ings
The Liverpool forward’s career at Anfield has been nothing more than just a forgetful experience. Cursed with recurring injuries, the 25-year-old has managed to carve out only a sporadic role under Jurgen Klopp, recording just over a 1000 minutes of playing time this season.
Since the German manager already has Dominic Solanke in the squad and is bound to get Divock Origi back after this season, Ings could very well be out on his way to a different club who will be able to meet his needs.

Jordan Hugill
He has barely found any playing time at West Ham United ever since his January switch from Preston North End. Between Andy Carol, Javier Chicharito Hernandez and Marko Arnautovic, it is unlikely that he will get much preference next campaign either.
