Celtic can lose out on their highly influential attacking midfielder Tom Rogic to Southampton. Southampton have previously raided the Scottish giants as they brought in the likes of Virgil Van Dijk, Victor Wanyama and Fraser Forster from the Hoops. However, the move can hinge on Southampton’s status in the English top flight as they are perilously close to relegation. They are currently in the dreaded 18th spot and are one point off the 17th placed Swansea City.
Rogic has played a big role in Brendan Rodgers’s Celtic side. The Australian has played 37 times in all competitions and has scored eight goals and has assisted further eight. However, Rodgers knows that it will be tough for him to keep the midfielder as he said-‘Tom is a brilliant player, but you have to respect that a player’s career is short.I don’t think he is questioning the club, I don’t think he is questioning anything here.He is a young guy who was deemed not good enough for some clubs when he was younger.Tom has come over here and it has taken five years for him to really establish himself and show his real talents. In the last couple of years, he has been sensational, really. It’s just a life decision, really.”
He further added-”Tom’s a massive talent and we hope we can keep him here. There’s nothing sinister in it (Leaving Celtic). He’ll take his time and I’ll always support players whatever their decisions are.”
In case, if Rogic leaves the Hoops we look at three players who they can go after-
James Maddison: Maddison has been one of the few bright sparks this season for the Canaries. He has racked up 15 goals and 11 assists this season in all competitions and could make a move to Celtic as Norwich are languishing at the 12th spot and it seems that they are nowhere near qualifying for the playoffs. He will be an ideal replacement for Rogic as Maddison has all the capabilities one will need from an attacking midfielder.
Tom Cairney: The Fulham midfielder can also be a good replacement for Rodgers. He has been an important player for them as they are pushing for a direct qualification to the Premier League. However, if Fulham secures a move to the top flight, it can be tough for the Hoops to lure him.

Tom Lawrence: Lawrence might not be a like for like replacement as he is traditionally a left winger. However, he has played in a more central role when called upon and has been an important player for The Rams this season.
