Tottenham Hotspur manager, Mauricio Pochettino opted to dodge a question about his future with the club in alarming fashion. After the loss to Manchester United in the FA Cup Semi-Finals, the Argentine manager went on to talk about the club’s philosophy and the path they have embarked on but nothing concrete about his immediate association to the North London outfit.
He, of course, did say, “I still have three years contract here, so there’s no point to talk about that.” Very suspect, especially within the realms the world of football is currently rotating in. Paris Saint-Germain is expected to be without a head-coach next summer and Zinedine Zidane’s position with Real Madrid has also been drawn into heavy speculation.
If the La Liga giants fail to win the Champions League this season, that could very much end the Frenchman’s association with the club, leaving Pochettino as possibly the best replacement option.
The summer will bring with it the vast assortment of eye-popping headlines but it would be a shame to see Tottenham Hotspur in one of them. The Spurs are due to return to the White Hart Lane and are on a steady climb to the top of the Premier League ladder.
The work done by Pochettino is distinctly similar to what Arsene Wenger has done with Arsenal over the years and is very hard to discount. If he does end up leaving, it will be a massive loss to the North London organization.
However, a replacement needs to be lined up and here are a few candidates who should be considered for the job.
Sean Dyche
The 46-year-old seems to have created a glowing resume for himself by guiding the Burnley team to their best season in England’s top-flight. The Clarets are ‘the best of the rest’ of the 2017/18 campaign, all thanks to the incredible defensive setup Dyche has put together.
The manager has not only managed to beat elite sides with the limited resources at his disposal, he is still within touching distance of the European qualification spot following Arsenal’s 2-1 loss to Manchester United.
Rafael Benitez
Newcastle United are indebted to this man for what they have been able to achieve over the past two seasons. An EFL Championship title and a subsequent 10th place finish in the Premier League is no joke with the money Mike Ashley has allotted to the Spaniard.
Benitez could do wonders with this Tottenham squad and can have a third attempt at winning the Premier League title, the one trophy that has managed to bypass his decorated trophy cabinet.

Slaviša Jokanović
It is almost shocking to see this manager without a long-term contract with his current club, Fulham. The 49-year-old will be up for grabs this summer and Tottenham should definitely make the swoop.
