Everton are all set to appoint former Watford boss Marco Silva in a week’s time as their head coach. The manager will take over from Sam Allardyce and might be given a hefty transfer kitty to make his own signings. Everton are now known to be big spenders in the market and should Silva take over, here are three signings we feel he should try to get done to improve the team.
Harry Maguire
The defender joined Leicester City from Hull City last season after the Tigers were relegated for a very low transfer fee. Not many clubs cared to sign a centre-back from a team who were relegated. However, Leicester turned out to be the winners in this deal as Maguire’s performance this season has been nothing short of spectacular.
The player is a young English defender with great promise for the future. He has the physical tenacity to cut it out and thrive in the English league. He is strong in the air and can command the defence from the back. At Everton, they desperately need to reshape the backline and Maguire could just be the leader they need at the back.
Danny Drinkwater
After a defender, they also need a midfielder. A calm presence in the centre of the midfield who will spread the game without much fuss. A player who will carry the tempo of the game, make the rough tackles and is tactically well-disciplined.
Danny Drinkwater is all of these things but unfortunately for him at Chelsea, he has been unable to prove his worth. He has been given little game time and hence unable to showcase his talent. The player has always performed when called upon and the former Leicester City man will know that should he move to Everton, he might get more game time than he does at Chelsea.
Wilfried Zaha
An attacking outlet to do the exciting things in the final third is needed for any team who want to take it to the next level. Everton have a host of attacking talent but very few can get the crowd on their feet on a daily basis.
Crystal Palace forward Wilfried Zaha has done exactly that at the London club. The winger who can also play as a forward is fast, athletic and exciting to watch. He is a goal-threat, a dribbler and can change a match on its head.

He will be the perfect addition to the final third as he can get them the much-needed goals to win matches.
