According to latest reports, Tottenham Hotspur may move out one or two of their midfield enforcers this summer. This would mean that Victor Wanyama’s days at the club are certainly numbered and the midfielder could soon be out of the club.
Wanyama has struggled this season with his fitness and has been left out of the squad for the majority of the year owing to his injuries. He has been in and out of the squad and has been unable to establish himself as a first-team player at the club.
The player is a defensive midfielder and ideally suited for the English game. He is physically strong, dominant in the air and is a no-nonsense player. He is a typical number 6 who will sit in front of the back four and shield the backline.
However, it seems that Tottenham may be interested in bringing in a new player in midfield and Wanyama could be on his way out. The player is still in his mid-20s and will certainly have a host of clubs who might want to sign him.
Here are three clubs who might want to sign the player.
Chelsea
The Blues have Tiemoue Bakayoko, N’Golo Kante, Cesc Fabregas and Danny Drinkwater in midfield. They also have Ross Barkley who can also play in that position. Bakayoko has been extremely poor this season and he will be looking to improve. However, the Frenchman might not find it easy to fit into the first team after his performances this season.
Cesc Fabregas is extremely effective moving forward and spreading the game for his team but is a defensive liability at times. N’Golo Kante is an excellent all-around midfielder and he certainly needs a partner who can sit in behind next to him. Wanyama is the perfect fit for the position.
Liverpool
The Reds have produced a brilliant attacking display but lacks in depth in the deeper midfield areas. They have Jordan Henderson and Emre Can who can play in the holding midfield position. However, Can is at the end of his contract after this season and Liverpool will need to replace him.
Wanyama can be the perfect foil to Henderson in the squad. He has similar traits to that of Henderson and having him in the side would allow the players ahead of him to express themselves freely.

Manchester United
United have Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matic in the first team. However, they might need another midfielder who will allow Pogba to roam about freely. Wanyama could just be the man to sit behind with Matic as Pogba gets the license to create havoc up front.
