Chelsea are ready to play Manchester United in the final of the FA Cup. The two sides have proven to be the best in the country in this particular tournament and they will now face off in the final to decide the winner.
Chelsea will be hoping to be lucky this time around after making a fantastic run last time out before losing to Arsenal in the final. Antonio Conte’s wretched run in knockout tournaments has seen the Italian fail to win a single cup competition so far in his managerial career.
He will now have a second chance with Chelsea but will be up against the cup specialist Mourinho. Jose has never lost an English final and all the odds will be in his favour tomorrow. To add more pressure to Conte, many believe this could be the Italian’s last match in charge of the Blues.
Conte has been widely believed to be the given the sack at the end of the season and with the Blues missing out on a top-four spot, these beliefs have only turned stronger. However, the manager for his part remains adamant to see his contract through which runs for another year.
“I can say for sure this will be my last match this season,” Conte said. “For me and my players it will be the last game for us. Then, as you know very well, I have a contract and I’m committed to the club.”
The Chelsea stars will be gunning to get a win for their passionate manager and here is how they might line up for tomorrow’s match.
Formation: 3-4-3
Defence
Thibaut Courtois can be expected in goal despite Willy Caballero playing all the prior matches in the FA Cup this season. The three-man defence is likely to consist of Cesar Azpilicueta, Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger.
Midfield
Marcos Alonso can be expected as the left wing back with Victor Moses as the right wing back. N’Golo Kante, who has been awarded the Player of the Season for Chelsea, should start at the centre with Cesc Fabregas. Tiemoue Bakayoko, who had a torrid time at the West London club, is expected to sit out once again with Danny Drinkwater also absent due to injury.
Attack
Eden Hazard might be seen on the left with Willian on the right as Olivier Giroud might start up front. Alvaro Morata is set to come off the bench, should the occasion arise.
