Liverpool striker Divock Origi is being linked with a switch to Besiktas this summer. According to recent reports, the Turkish giants are interested in securing the signature of the Reds centre-forward during this summer transfer window. It is believed that the Black Eagles are eager to bolster their attacking options this summer and could make a move for the Belgian international in this post-season.
The 23-year-old went out on loan to VFL Wolfsburg last summer had put in a number of outstanding displays for the German club during the course of last season which has not gone unnoticed. Some sources are now claiming that Besiktas could provide him with an escape route this summer as the Reds look to rebuild their squad going into the new season. Recent reports have also revealed that the Turkish club’s President Fikret Orman has held talks with the Belgian’s agent in London recently.
Origi had featured in 37 matches for the Bundesliga outfit last season, scoring 7 goals while providing 3 assists in all competitions. He has also earned 25 international caps for the Belgian national team and has three international goals to his name so far.
The Reds of Merseyside ended their season with a heart-breaking 3-1 loss versus Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League final on Saturday night. Jurgen Klopp needs to recruit wisely in this summer transfer window if they are to challenge for major silverware once again next term.
Retaining some of their top talents could go a long way in helping them close the gap to Manchester City next season. However, Origi has still not managed to take his game to the next level which will be a cause for concern. Klopp will need to take a decision on the Belgian’s future soon with Besiktas waiting to pounce on his signature.

A move out of Merseyside could help Origi reignite his career while Liverpool can use the money generated from his sale to strengthen other areas of their squad. At 23, the Belgian still has his peak years ahead of him which the Turkish club could look to utilise in the coming years. He is also very versatile and can operate on either flank or as a centre-forward up top which makes him a perfect fit for any of his potential suitors. It remains to be seen what lies ahead in the future of Origi and whether he ends up making a switch to Besiktas this summer.
