Sean Goss has recently revealed that he has left Rangers after his loan spell at the Ibrox Stadium came to an end. According to a recent post made by the English talent, he wished the Gers well and added that he learnt a lot from his time in Glasgow.
The 22-year-old made a six-month loan switch to the Ibrox Stadium from Queens Park Rangers in January and has put in a number of match-winning performances for the Teddy Bears during the course of the campaign. Goss has featured in 10 league matches for Rangers last season and has two goals to his name.
Goss recently released a post on his official Instagram page which stated, ‘I would like to say a big thanks to everyone at Rangers FC for the opportunity! A lot of ups and downs but I learnt a lot & loved my time here at the football club! Wishing the club and everyone involved all the best in the future!’
The English midfielder is now expected to go back to QPR and link up with his teammates for the pre-season in a few weeks’ time. His exit will be a big blow for Steven Gerrard as he looks to build a squad capable of challenging Celtic in the upcoming campaign.
The Gers are in need to make some clever acquisitions in this transfer window so that they have a realistic chance of closing the gap to the Hoops next season. Retaining some of their top talents could also go a long way in helping them compete for major silverware next term.
The departure of Goss will leave them significantly depleted so they need to bring in a suitable replacement capable of lining up in Gerrard’s starting XI. However, it won’t be an easy task to replace him as the 22-year-old is extremely versatile and can operate in a number of different positions across the pitch. He primarily plays as a central defender but can also be deployed on the left flank as a full-back or in a more advanced role which makes him an ideal fit for the Gers.

There is no doubt that his exit will leave a big hole in the Gers’ midfield which Gerrard needs to address in the coming weeks. It remains to be seen what lies ahead in the future of Goss and whether the Teddy Bears can cope with the loss of his services next season.
