Arsenal are looking to secure the services of SC Freiburg defender Caglar Söyüncü this summer. According to recent reports, the Gunners are planning on make a move for the Turkish youngster during this summer transfer period.
At the mere age of 22, he has already made 55 appearances for the Bundesliga club and is considered by many, as one of the most promising defenders in European football. The London giants will do well to prise him away from the German top-flight. Söyüncü has put in a number of commanding performances at the back for Christian Streich’s team during the course of last season which has not gone unnoticed.
The Turkish starlet has now revealed that he will only talk about his future after the 2018 FIFA World Cup comes to a close. Some sources are now claiming that the Gunners are lining up a £35m offer for the Freiburg defender.
In a recent interview, Söyüncü addressed his future and was quoted to have said, “Arsenal are one of the most important clubs in England.
“I know they’re interested in me, but there’s nothing finalised yet about my transfer.
“After the national team camp, we’ll have talks.”
The player’s agent Mustafa Dogru recently stated, “The difference between Bundesliga 1 and the Premier League is not as big as from the Turkish second division and Bundesliga 1, so he is ready.
“He is perfect for the Premier League. We are sure he is going to make a big impact in the first season.”
It is now being reported that Soyuncu is keen on making a move to the English top tier this summer with Freiburg willing to part ways with him for the right price. Arsenal had a disappointing campaign and are in need to bring in some quality players in this ongoing transfer window if they are to challenge for a Champions League spot next term.
The addition of Soyuncu will undoubtedly bolster their defensive options at the Emirates Stadium. Arsenal have an array of defensive talents such as Laurent Koscielny, Konstantinos Mavropanos, Shkodran Mustafi and Callum Chambers vying for a place in Emery’s first-team. The potential acquisition of Soyuncu will add more competition for places within the Arsenal squad and improve their team a lot in the upcoming season.
