Wolverhampton Wanderers are reportedly readying a bid for Hartlepool kid Harrison Webster. The 15-year-old teenager plays as a left back for Hartlepool and has been excellent in their youth team. He has been shown interest by a number of clubs including Premier League clubs like West Ham and Leicester City.
The Hammers have an excellent attack loaded in their team. However, they have been far less than convincing this term meaning that they have a weak defence to cover. Their set up has seen them concede unnecessary goals. It is unlikely that a signing Webster would mean that their defence is sorted but he could be a star for the future in the team. Moreover, after having spent so much in the last two years, the Hammers would be looking to make some future investment meaning that getting Webster would be a perfect piece of business for the future. Also, they would be giving the teenager a taste of Premier League football, something hard to come by for young kids his age.
If he were to choose Leicester, it would mean another dynamic. The Foxes are in excellent form and have a really talented team in place. They have Christian Fuchs in the team who is well established. They also have Ben Chilwell who is very well developed and has the potential to become a star now that he is only 20 years old. This would mean that Webster would have to wait in line for an infinitely long time to get some game time under his belt and would be wise to turn them down despite them being a club in the big stages now.
Coming on to Wolves, they are a big club right now. They have played some excellent football this season and are deservingly in the top of the Sky Bet Championship table after 40 game weeks.
They have blown away most sides and have been at the top for a long time now. The recent influx of money at the club due to the change in ownership means that Wolves are unlikely to stop with a promotion. They have set their trend high and have brought in some classy players like Ruben Neves and Diogo Jota.
If they were to move for Webster, he would be going to a club in a positive transition and he would be smart to join them as by the time he is ready for the first team, Wolves will have hopefully settled in the Premier League as well.
