Real Madrid are planning to offer their winger Lucas Vasquez as a makeweight in their bid to sign Liverpool speedster Mohamed Salah this summer. According to recent reports, the Galacticos will offer their Spanish winger in an effort to tip the scales in their favour in pursuit of the Reds’ Egyptian ace when the transfer window opens in the summer.
It is understood that the Merseyside outfit are interested in Vasquez with Los Blancos president Florentino Perez believing that the Spaniard could be an ideal piece in their chase to secure the services of Salah. Zinedine Zidane’s team were plotting to make a €200m offer for the Egyptian winger but they are unsure of whether it would be enough to persuade Liverpool into selling their prized asset. However, with the inclusion of Vasquez in any potential deal, the Galacticos hope that the price will be lower.
Some sources have recently claimed that Liverpool are not willing to sell Salah even if the La Liga giants make a €200m offer for his signature this summer. The Egypt international has enjoyed a sensational campaign at Anfield so far this season which has seen him being rewarded with the PFA Player of the Year award earlier this month. The 25-year-old has featured in 47 matches for Liverpool, scoring 43 goals while providing 15 assists in all competitions.
The Reds have a tally of 72 points after Gameweek 36 and find themselves in the 3rd spot in the league table. They are still in a strong position to finish in the top 4, even after being held to a 0-0 draw at home versus Stoke City in their last league outing. However, Jurgen Klopp’s main focus will now be on the UEFA Champions League with an away clash at Rome looming on the horizon.
Retaining their top stars like Salah could go a long way in helping Liverpool close the gap between themselves and the Manchester clubs in the coming years. The Egyptian international has been instrumental for the Reds during the course of this campaign and is one of the main reasons why they are doing so well in Europe’s premier cup competition. Klopp’s side can’t afford to lose someone of his talents if they are to progress in the next few years and mount a realistic title challenge in the league.

Although the addition of Vasquez will undoubtedly bolster their attacking options for the new campaign yet, the Merseysiders should do all they can to keep hold of Salah at all costs!
